Symantec VIP Access for Desktop is a program that lets you keep your online accounts and purchases secure. When signing into your VIP-enabled accounts, it offers solid two-factor authentication. VIP Access is available at participating companies such as eBay, PayPal, E*TRADE, and Facebook. 

When standard identity and security tools like LastPass and Keeper Password Manager are no longer enough to shield you from online threats, you need applications like VIP access. The program starts up automatically, ensuring that you are secure at all times. To launch the program manually, head to the VIP Access folder in Applications.

What is Symantec VIP Access?

The VIP in Symantec VIP Access stands for Validation & IP Protection. Once you've downloaded the VIP Access app on your computer, you will be required to open and agree to its terms and conditions. The app will then display a screen with your Symantec serial number (this is your credential ID generated by the VIP Access app) and a security code on a running timer. The app generates a new, unique code every 30 seconds. 

You can proceed to the participating VIP Access site and click the Activate Your Security Key button. Enter your serial number generated by the VIP Access app. Then enter the six-digit security code. Let the timer run out and enter the next 6-digit code. Click Activate. After you click activate, you should get a "Your security key is now active" message on the next screen.
